Contribute to a relief project
After taking the minor Humanitarian Management 1 you may like to do an internship in development work. You can choose to take the second part of the minor in South Africa and work on a relief project in the townships. This will enable you to put theory into practice and develop your personal, professional and management qualities. You will also explore fundraising and work on your writing and presentation skills.
- Gain insight into the different aspects of development work and the aid organizations involved.
- Discover how aid works in practice.
- Learn how to work in a relief team.
The minor consists of two parts each worth 15 ECTS credits and is offered in English in South Africa. The course concludes with various practical assignments.

Would you like to take this minor? You can do so if you have completed the first part of Humanitarian Management in Leeuwarden and are in the third year of International Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Media and Entertainment Management, Leisure Management, Creative Therapy, Social Work, International Business and Management Studies (IBMS), International Business and Languages (IBL), Commercial Economics or Logistics and Economics course.
